Our skilled artisan bakers shape each loaf by hand to preserve the open airy structure of the dough. The loaves are allowed to rise slowly to enhance the complex flavors of the wheat. Finally, the bread is scored by hand and baked in our stone hearth oven to create its beautiful caramel color and crunchy crust. Directions Storing & Freezing: Our breads have no preservatives so they are best the day you buy them. We recommend keeping the cut side down on a cutting board covered with a clean, dry dishcloth. If the bread begins to harden, moisten it with a little water and refresh the crust in a 400 degree oven for 5-10 minutes. Our breads keep very well frozen, just wrap the loaf tightly in plastic and place in a sealed plastic bag in the freezer. When you are ready to use it, unwrap, thaw and follow instructions for refreshing the crust. Enjoy! Storing Tip: Avoid storing bread in the refrigerator. Refrigeration will make the bread stale faster.
