Directions
Cooking: On the Stove Top: 1. Place 1 cup of rice in a saucepan. 2. Add 1-3/4 cups water, bring to a boil and stir. 3. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 50 minutes or until moisture is absorbed. 4. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. 5. Fluff with fork and serve. In the Rice Cooker: 1. Place 2 cups of rice into rice cooker. 2. Add water to 3 cup line on the rice cooker (brown rice measurements may vary by rice cooker). 3. Stir rice, close lid and start cooker. 4. When cooking ends, let stand covered for 5 minutes. 5. Fluff with fork and serve. Substitute chicken broth for water to enhance the flavor of brown rice. Serving Guide: 1/2 cup uncooked rice serves 1 person; 1 cup uncooked rice serves 2 people; 2 cups uncooked rice serves 4 people. 1 cup uncooked rice makes approximately 3 cups cooked rice. Cooking Time: 49 minutes (firm); 50 minutes (soft). Store in a cool dry place out of sunlight.
